There are 3 apartments available which sleep 2 (plus baby), 4 and 8 people. The apartments are very different in layout and style but each mainly consist of a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, bathroom (The Mariposa also has a wet room with wc), fully equipped kitchen and lounge. They have central heating and log burning stoves (Not in the Chiquita which has underfloor heating) for the Winter. The open plan kitchen and lounge area turn a very rustic building in to a modern feeling home whilst keeping features like the slate floors, stone walls and wooden beams in keeping with the building. There is a TV with DVD player, Washing Machine, Dishwasher (Not in the Chiquita), Microwave, Electric Oven and Gas Hob. There is ample parking and wifi available for those that still want to stay in touch with the rest of the world! The perfect base to go exploring and searching for your new home. The owners have spent 5 years restoring their home using local builders and mucking in themselves. They have therefore amassed a wealth of knowledge in the restoration of an old stone built house typical to this area and the processes of moving and integrating in to the Spanish community. They will be more than happy to share their experiences over a tinto and a tapa in one of the local bars.

The Cave of Dreams is a beautiful one roomed rustic cave B&B with balcony and bathroom. The cave is suitable for one or two people and continental breakfast with eggs is served every morning in the cave, on the balcony or downstairs on the terrace by your friendly hosts Allan and Clive. The cave has stunning views over the Andalucian countryside and mountains ans is centrally located with the Autovia A92N and the lovely town of Baza only 5 min away. The cave includes two single beds, seating area and TV, tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom is external to the cave, just a couple of steps away on the balcony. Please note that the Cave of Dreams is not suitable for anyone with mobility impairments due to the staircase to the cave.

Cueva de Ryder Loco is a newly refurbished cave offering a quirky and unique accommodation experience whilst incorporating all the modern features tourists of today demand. Cueva de Ryder Loco aim to bring cave living to life with a modern twist! Caves are a perfect retreat from the intense summer heat Spain offers whilst providing a cosy environment in those winter months as they hold a natural temperature of around 18 - 20 degrees. ------------------------------------------- Accommodation: Cueva de Ryder Loco is a three bedroom cave, sleeping 5 people, offering WIFI. The cave is furnished with lantern style electric lighting and decorated with candles offering a soft relaxing light (however there is extra lighting for reading etc) There are two double rooms and one single room, all decorated to a high standard whilst maintaining a rustic feel. All beds have hypo allergenic bedding and cotton sheets, towels are also provided. ------------------------------------------ You enter the cave by a large traditional style front door offering natural light to the spacious lounge which has two 3 seater sofas, a flat screen tv with full british sky tv package which includes all the movies and sports - perfect if you wish to relax after a busy day. There is a log burner with pizza oven above for those winter evenings. The dining room is equipped with a dining table and chairs (currently set up for four people, but can be extended to seat a maximum of six people), a stereo unit with cd player and docking station. Between the kitchen and the dining room you will find a circular room which has a daybed and is decorated with lots of cushions, beanbag and a reading light for those wanting a quiet room; books and games can be found in here. The fully equipped kitchen has everything needed to cook a meal; there is a glass table, electric oven, grill & hob, fridge / freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle as well as pots and pans. Iron & ironing board are available upon request free of charge. The bathroom is spacious with a toilet, sink, bath and a walk in shower. Directly outside the front door there is a patio area with amazing views of the mountains beyond and the town just below. There is a jacuzzi hot tub and garden furniture for guests to enjoy and take in the peace and quiet. Cueva de Ryder Loco is on a quiet country lane with minimal passing traffic, the birds singing is a welcomed sound, so why not enjoy the space outside whilst being close to the town and all amenities. ---------------------------------------------------------- Guest access: During a stay at Cueva de Ryder Loco guests have full and private access to the cave with its own front door, along with the use of the jacuzzi hot tub and garden area. There is also a storage area where mountain bikes can be stored securely should you bring your bikes. On street parking is available. Interaction with guests The owners of the cave do live on the same site, next to the cave and will meet you upon arrival to run through everything and show you around the cave and afterwards are nearly always on hand to assist with anything you may need, however fully respect the privacy of their guests and will engage as little or as much as is wanted. Bernie’s home is located in Baza, Andalucía, Spain. Cueva de Ryder Loco is located in a small hamlet above Baza, with panoramic views of Baza below and the mountains beyond. There is a pizzeria approx 200 metres away (less than a 5 minutes walk) offering a very friendly service and a variety of dishes including their amazing wood oven cooked pizzas. Locally there is a mini supermarket, bakery, butchers & bars offering traditional tapas. Whilst Baza is just a short distance offering many parks, decorative fountains and plazas, historic points of interest as well as a large variety of bars and restaurants, banks, clothing stores, pharmacies, churches, a busy market on a Wednesday and much much more. The Sierra de Baza is literally on the doorstep offering many routes for mountain bikers and walkers. -------------------------------------------- Lake Negratin and the villages of Feila & Zujar are just a 15 minute drive away where there is a natural spring bath, swimming in the lake and watersports as well as restaurants on the shores to enjoy a drink or a meal. The area is surrounded by nature parks offering a wide variety of outdoor activities for all seasons including the ski resort of Sierra Nevada. There are other local areas to visit all within an hours drive such as Guadix, Castril and the city of Granada with the famous Alhambra. You can also be at the beach of Mojacar in approximately 1 1/2 hours. There is so much to discover and explore in the Andalucian region of Spain. ------------------------------------------ Getting around: A car from the airport is essential for exploring everything the area has to offer as public transport can be limited. Although Baza does have a large bus station and goes to many places. The taxis in Baza are also reasonably priced and will bring you home, so there is no need to worry about enjoying the hospitality Baza has to offer. There are numerous airports all within a two hour drive including Malaga, Murcia, Alicante & Almeria. Granada airport being the closest at 50 minutes drive. Directions to cave: Directions and a map will be provided in plenty of time of arrival but briefly; from the airport you take the motorway in the direction of Granada / Almeria / Murcia / Alicante or Malaga and then the A 92 into Baza.
